The Arts Council of the Blue Ridge represents individual artists and cultural organizations which work and operate in the Greater Roanoke Region. We serve these groups by acting as a unified voice promoting the value of arts/cultural activities to the vitality of the economic and educational health of the region, creating awareness for community engagement and advocating at the state and local levels for arts funding.

The Roanoke Virginia Region balances outdoor recreation and urban amenities with a low cost of living. Residents and visitors have easy access to some of the best cycling, fishing, water sports, and hiking in North America.

With debut artists and returning audience favorites, our 10th season is the perfect combination of the progressive and the classic. Diverse audiences and diverse programming. World class art in a great small city.  These are the hallmarks of the Jefferson Center experience.

The Shadowbox is a community microcinema dedicated to promoting local and regional filmmaking in the Roanoke Valley. We also pride ourselves in screening independent, foreign and just plain weird films that otherwise would never be shown in Roanoke.      Kirk Avenue Music Hall presents musical events in a relaxed, smoke-free setting with the focus on the stage. No frills. No TVs. No fusion menus. Just what matters at a music venue: exceptional music, clear sound, dedicated fans and not a bad seat in the house. We feature local and nationally-known musicians performing a wide range of music: from roots and Americana, blues and bluegrass, to good ol¹ rock & roll. Kirk Ave captures live, raw performances that makes you feel as if you¹re sitting in the artist¹s living room. Doesn¹t get much better than that!
